Why Does Credit Repair Take So Long?
Why does credit repair take so long? Think about the process to understand why your credit scores do not move as quickly as you'd like them to.The scenario below is pretty common. Of course there are exceptions. Some events could take longer and there are a few that are shorter, depending on your circumstances.
First you have to get your credit reports along with the scores. This should go rather quickly, but people still believe that they are entitled to credit scores for free. You are not.
After you get the reports and scores you have to figure out what is in your credit reports that is keeping your credit scores so low. Do you have the capability to figure this out or are you going to just dispute everything that is negative?
Once you figure out how to write your dispute letters, where do you send them? What do you send with the letter and where do these letters go?
After you get the dispute letters in the mail, you wait. The credit reporting agencies have 30 days to respond. If they do not get enough information from you they will halt their investigation and ask you for more information. This prolongs the 30 day time line they have to complete their investigation.
As you are waiting, counting the days, you might get a request from the credit bureau asking for more information. You respond hopefully, then wait again.
Around 30 days from the time the bureaus get your additional information, you get the results of the inquiry in the mail-or on line. This dispute is either resolved or the complaint is denied. If it is resolved, you are done. All you have to do is purchase your scores again. If it is denied you start all over.
The reason is that it takes a while to get disputes, payments, new purchases through the system and on to your credit report. If you have a dispute resolved in a shorter period of time, contact us and we can trigger an update, which will give you current information.

You should make the medical bills removal part of the settlement deal you make with the creditor. Do it before you pay them off
